I found a little frog in my room,
One fine afternoon, as I groomed my room.
I wonder high, I wonder low,
How it leaped in, I really do not know.
For all doors are closed and all windows are shut,
Entering my room would be like cracking a tough nut.
Rather a disgust, I thought at first glance,
Nothing to adore or awe, by any chance.
With a head full with steam and a broom in my hand,
I tried to chase it out with all that I can.
I screamed and yelled and stomped my feet,
With the broom in my hand, I swinged in an unruly beat.
But the little frog neither would budge nor cry nor flee,
Instead, it looked at me with its eyes cute as can be.
The little frog let out a comforting smile,
Then my heart softened like a little child.
“If you may, I truly want to be your friend,
For you, I really wish to care and tend.”
Its words touched my heart oh so deeply,
And so, a kiss I laid on its head, light and gently.
Lo and behold, the frog suddenly transformed,
Into prince charming, it astonishingly formed.
Oh dear, oh gosh, what is going on?
Dear prince charming, where you come from?
“Remember what I told you not too long ago?
I hope to be your friend, and not your foe.”
Such beautiful blessing, oh so surprising,
This little frog in my room is rather bewildering.
Dear little cute frog, you’re such an adore,
You entered my sealed room, which can be rather a bore.
You offered me friendship and joy and many more,
Yes, little frog, you’re such an adore.

Riddles of Life (2)
Ah… Another riddles of life yet to be pondered about. Just then, a dear cassette I once gave away returned back to me. Yes, I have to emphasize again, the album is uniquely scarce. However, it was only last two weeks while I was on a journey in a foreign land; I stumbled upon the same album. This time, it was packaged in a high quality CD. Overjoyed with such, I must say, divine encounter, I hurriedly purchased the CD.
What I thought was lost forever was returned.
And returned, better than before…
Wow… I am truly amazed.
What I thought was lost forever was returned.
And returned, better than before…
Wow… I am truly amazed.

Riddles of Life
Life is full with riddles. Peculiar, yet interestingly miraculous riddles.
Some made us smile and laugh. Like the seven-coloured curved stripe on the sky. Who would have guessed, a horrendous storm can bring such beautiful craving on the sky.
Some made us cry and shiver and fuming with anger. The sarcastic words cannon-balled . The ignored heart. The many failed attempts. “Why?” you screamed, you yelled, you sobbed, “Why?”.
Just then, I had lost my dear watch. But, if I really think of it, it was not mine to begin with. Had it on my wrist for years, but gone within seconds. Misplacement? Slipped out? Whatever the reason maybe, it is another riddle of life.
Though was saddened by its lost, deep down in my heart, I felt a certain sense of joy. Relieved, to be precise. Set free? Well, literally speaking, my left wrist is now bare. But I’d hope, it will return back to its rightful owner, whom, as I mentioned earlier, is not me.
Another then, I had found something I had lost. You see, a precious cassette of mine given away to the same person above. I love my dear cassette. It was a definite extinct. I thought I could never see it again. Ever again? I was oh so wrong...
A dear friend of mine not knowingly had same cassette. Found while she was spring cleaning, she concluded that she can never know how to appreciate such unique opus. Thus, she handed it to me. Yes, the cassette I lost. Who would have thought, what was lost, can returned? Another riddle, I supposed.
Riddles of life, they make life so colourful.
Blue would not know he is blue, if he had not met dear red.
Mountain peak would not be that high, if there is no valley.
Time would not be precious, if the clock had stopped ticking.
Light would not breakthrough, if there is no blanket of darkness.
Love would not know its place, if you do not have a fragile heart.
Life is full with riddles. Ridiculous it maybe.
Like a jigsaw puzzle, with each ridiculously shaped pieces combined together.
A beautiful picture, in the end of it all...
A picture of...
Me.

Lost Watch
My watch I lost one destined day,
The clouds suddenly seem so gray,
But wonder why, really, that day,
My heart had never been so gay?
A sudden change I felt, I sensed,
Though it does not seem to make any sense,
Like another realm I have transcend,
Or maybe, just my imagination leaking without consent.
Lord, send Your divine wisdom as aid,
So that the focus on You will never fade,
And remind me of the price You paid,
And Your will and my purpose, that I am made.
Amen.

Letter from Loved One
The little mouse leaped with joy! For she received a letter from her little loved one far, far away. A letter from her little beloved “daughter”. Yes, you heard that right, her “DAUGHTER”. Well, ok, not exactly her “daughter” kinda “daughter”. Little Seaklim is the little mouse’s sponsored child. Which means, Seaklim is a child whom the little mouse commits to provide monthly provision to. 50 Dil, to be precise, each month. A little price to pay for the joy of helping a child in need.

Unlocking Miracles
Dancing class was fun! Learn new steps, dance to the new beat. And yes, since the little mouse has yet to buy her purple dancing shoes, her feet are literally screaming for help.
“Ya,” said the little mouse, “I can hear my toes lamenting. But I am enjoying every beat! Woo hoo~”
And yes, she STILL has two left feet. And yes, she still holds her breathe when she dances.
“Breathe… You need to BREATHE!” exclaimed her dance instructor. Most probably because he do not want the trouble of dragging her unconscious body out of the space floor if she ever pass out.
The highlight was not only the dance, but also after the dance class.
It was late. And not to mention dark. There were only two of them; namely the little mouse and one of her friend from the dancing class. They were on paying the parking fee, when suddenly…
*cheng* *cheng* *cheng*
Another of her dancing friend, Trisie-Wisie, came to pay her parking fee as well. Haha! Got you… OK, back to story…
The little mouse and her friend waved to greet her.
Trisie-Wisie excited to see them.
Trisie-Wisie waved back.
Trisie-Wisie stepped out of her car.
Trisie-Wisie closed her car door…
Uh oh! Her car is still running. Her car key was still inside her car. And her car door was locked!
Spare keys, no. Locksmith, it was too late at night. Parking attendants, they looked like they are running away from them. Great, now what are they going to do. Attempt to break in, of course! So, there were three of them, in the empty parking lot, attempting to pull out parts from her car.
Then, a car passed by. Ohh… it was their dance instructor. He went off, but thank God he came back.
“Oh my,” he said, “how could this happened. And the car’s engine is still running. Ok, let me try. I have done this a few times.” Hmm… broken into cars a few times. Ironically, the statement seems assuring.
So, now there were four of them in the empty parking lot. He tried using a long steel, which he “extracted” from the car’s wipers, to unlock by sliding into door. But the steel was rather flimsy and short. Thus, after numerous attempts, they switched to Plan B, i.e.: breaking the window…
As the he was trying to “pull off” the car’s window, the little mouse and Trisie-Wisie attempt to unlock the door using her house door key. Yes, her house key. But as she attempt to thrust the key into the key hole, the little mouse noticed the door was opened!
“A miracle!” the dance instructor exclaimed. And yes, thank God! None of them really knew how the door suddenly became unlocked, but thank God indeed!
And so, it was a great experience for the little mouse. Not just that she had learnt new dance steps, but learnt, too, on how to break into cars. And of course she learnt that God is a god of miracles. No obstacle is too big for Him to overcome. No concern is too small for Him to care.
Yes, Lord. Make us awe! Amen.

Be Holy (Part 2)
Third day of the little mouse new work in the big-big world “out there”. Responsibilities are bucketing. Expectation is pilling big. Challenges spawns like mushrooms on a rainy day. Learning to be more optimistic in life is the first lesson the little mouse is to learn, you may say.
Well, not actually…
The first and foremost and also most important lesson the little mouse should, and keep on learning, is to be holy.
The little mouse was attempting to squeeze her car into the teeny weeny parking space, when suddenly she heard a sound. A tiny sound mighty enough to push her into the deepest, darkest pit of anxiousness.
Sssvvvxxxtttddd... Her car had “accidentally” scraped the car next to the parking space she was trying to get in. Just as she was plunging down into the deepest, darkest pit of anxiousness, time suddenly stopped. She turned her head and saw. Behold! The “poor injured” car was an oh-so-lavishly-expensive-and-never-in-her-life-see-such-a-beautiful-car! After a minute ogling at the luxurious car, she continued her journey of plunging down the deepest, darkest pit of anxiousness.
Then, ran three parking attendants to her.
Mr. Parking 1: OHHHHH… You smashed the car! You smashed Mr. Richman’s car!
Mr. Parking 2: AHHHHH… How now, har? How?
Little mouse: (speechless… while looking at the three tiny five-centimeters grazes at the bumper)
Mr. Parking 1: The car is damaged!! (voice raising high)
Little mouse: (speechless… still looking at the three tiny five-centimeters grazes at the bumper)
Mr. Parking 2: How now, little missy? What you are to do about it? (his stern look fired a high capacity laser beam into the little mouse’s heart)
Little mouse: (speechless… sobbing quietly while praying for God’s help)
Mr. Parking 3: This car is extremely expensive, you know! What you are going to do about it? (his words fired gazillions of bullets into her heart)
Little mouse: (praying even harder) I am sorry. I will pay for the damages caused.
Mr. Parking 2: Ok, pay now!!
Mr. Parking 3: You know how expensive this car is? You better pay now!
Little mouse: Erm, I will pay the car owner myself and say sorry to him.
Mr. Parking 1: How can? Pay us now!
Little mouse: I’ll give you my phone number. Please pass it to him and kindly ask him to give me a call. I’ll settle with him.
Mr. Parking 1: Just pay us now and get it over with! Mr. Richman is going to be furious when he knows you damage his car! (his annoyed look launched ten thousands torpedoes into her heart)
Little mouse: It’s ok. I will apologize to him myself. I will settle the payment myself.
Mr. Parking 2: Pay us! Why don’t you pay us! He’ll be fuming with anger with us! You know, we’ll be the one he’ll bawl at. (his anger launched five millions silos targeting to hit her heart)
Little mouse: Then, just pass Mr. Richman my details… I’ll talk to him… (trembling with fear and praying even harder)
Mr. Parking 1: … (speechless)
Mr. Parking 2: … (speechless)
Mr. Parking 3: … (speechless)
So, then, the three parking attendants took the little mouse’s details and phone number to be passed to Mr. Richman. Mr. Richman did call the end of the day. He was not really a baddie. Rich... very very rich, but not really a baddie. He was actually glad that she had passed her contact to him and not to run away by giving the money to the parking attendants. The little mouse knew that if she were to give money to the three parking attendants, she does not need to go through the hassle of meeting up with Mr. Richman to discuss on the payment for the damages (yes, three tiny five-centimeters grazes, to be precise) she had caused.
The amount to be paid was then settled. The amount she has to pay for the three tiny five-centimeters grazes on his car bumper was more than what she expected. Yes, far far FAR more and even beyond what she expected to pay. Then, there she goes again, plunging down into the deepest, darkest pit of anxiousness…
Well, at least, she’s glad she made the right choice. Her loving God will help her through… Amen.

Be Holy (Part 1)
Yesterday was the little mouse’s first day at work in a new place. Oh what great scent; the whiff of a new adventure! After a hard day of work (not really though), it’s time for the little mouse to travel back to her humble abode.
Unfamiliar with the route home, the little mouse could not decide on whether on taking the left turn or heading straight. On one second, the little mouse thought, “I remembered, it’s the left turn!”
But, at the very last second, “Oh no, I think I am supposed to go straight…”
And off her little mousie car swayed, from the left lane to the middle lane.
Oblivious to her, she committed an “illegal” move! Mr. Policemantoe and Mr. Policemantaa who was at the junction stopped her. “Oh no, what wrong have I done?” the little mouse pondered, while her mind is still very much cluttered with question; which direction leads her home.
Mr. Policemantaa: Hey, mousie lady, you know what traffic offenses you did?
Little mouse: Err… no, actually…
Mr. Policemantaa: Sure?
Little mouse: Was it because I swayed to the middle lane?
Mr. Policemantaa: You did an illegal sway, my dear! Where are you heading?
Little mouse: Home. I thought home was that way. But in the end, I think it’s this way.
Mr. Policemantaa: Heck, no. You should take that way. That way leads you home. Why the sudden change of mind?
Little mouse: I was not sure. I am very unfamiliar to this place.
Mr. Policemantaa: So how? Want to pay the fine or not?
Little mouse: Huh? Not pay the fine?
Mr. Policemantaa: Yes, missy. Not pay the fine…
Little mouse: … (stared blankly at him)
Mr. Policemantaa: Treat us a meal, if you wish not pay the fine. (grinning cheek to cheek)
Little mouse: … (continue to stare blankly at him)
Mr. Policemantaa: Yes, just gave both of us a “treat”. Else, you have to pay 300 Dils. That’s a lot, you know! (grinning ear to ear)
Little mouse: 300 Dils??? (eyes opened bewildered)
Then, in all sudden, the little mousie angel and the little mouse devil appeared on both side of her shoulder.
The red devil whisper to her in one ear, “Hey, 300 Dils is a lot of money! Think of the hard work you poured in to earn a better living. Think about all the pretty dresses and delicious meals you can buy with it. Come on, give them a ‘treat’. Besides, everyone does it! It’s so common. So normal. So, why not?”
And so, the little red devil continued with his long, elaborated thesis on why not the little mouse gave a “meal treat” to the policemen.
The little white angel spoke of only two words. In a gentle whisper, he said, “Be holy”.
Little mouse: Err… Mr. Policemantaa, it’s ok. Since I have done wrong, I deserved the fine.
Mr. Policemantaa: What???????? (eyes wide opened bewildered)
Mr. Policemantoe: What’s happening here? So, how little missy?
Mr. Policemantaa: This little missy wants a fine!
Little mouse: I have done wrong. Please fine me.
Mr. Policemantoe: Are you sure? Come, let me see your driving license.
Little mouse: Here you go.
So, Mr. Policemantoe took the little mouse’s driving license and took out his pen and this notebook.
Mr. Policemantoe: Where you heading, missy? (flipping the pages of his notebook)
Little mouse: Oh, I am heading home. May I ask, which way to home. I am quite lost.
Mr. Policemantoe: Oh, go straight. That’s the easier route. Don’t turn left.
Little mouse: Will there be traffic jam there?
Mr. Policemantoe: Well, in this hustling-bustling city, it will be jammed.
Little mouse: Oh… no other way?
Mr. Policemantoe: Yes, but straight would be much easier.
Little mouse: Thanks, Mr. Policemantoe.
Mr. Policemantoe: Hmmm… next time becareful. Don’t do any illegal move anymore, okay?
And then, the policeman handed her back her license… just her license. She received no fine.
She’s glad she made the right choice; that is to be holy as Lord her God is holy. For her choice pleases God. And that is what matter most.
Thank God.

Thank God.
1 Peter 1:15-16 (NIV)
(15)But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; (16)for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."

Piano
The little mouse loves the piano. Everything about the piano, she loves dearly. The elegant shape of the grand piano. The orderly black and white keys. The pleasant sound of its voice. The dances of the fingers as they step and twirl on it. Everything…
“Teach me, won’t you? And show me. The dances of your fingers on the black and white dance floor.”
Silence…
“Yahoo~! I learnt how to play a song on the piano. Let me play it for you? Won’t you want to hear it?”
Yet, silence…
“Let’s practice together. It’ll be great fun. I am so sure of it.”
Silence, again…
“My fingers ached. I think I hurt my wrist too. The notes are so difficult, I don’t think I can play this.”
Nothing, but silence…
“Nevertheless, I’ll continue to play, again and again. And Lord, let me not give up creating symphony for You. For I know You love hearing me play. You dance to my symphony. And encore at every opus. Yes, You love hearing me play. Amen.”
…
…
…
Mr. Tall Hat, where are you?
…
Ecclesiastes 4 (NIV)
(9) Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:
(10) If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!
(11) Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
(12) Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
“Teach me, won’t you? And show me. The dances of your fingers on the black and white dance floor.”
Silence…

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Where could the little mouse be, in a star sea galaxy?
Can you see her, little boy, with the telescope you bought yesterday?
Can you see her, Captain Hawk, through your adventurous nights in the wild oceans?
Can you see her, Billy and Jane, through your countless courtship at night?
Can you see her, Daddy, You who paint them beautifully on the velvet galaxy?
On the endless galaxy, there the little mouse stood,
By the right of the valiant white bear,
By the far left of the elegant snow swan,
In front of noble wise owl,
And yes, at the back of swift black stallion.
On top of her voice, she bloom a little melody,
Along with all others, resonating a pleasing harmony,
Flooding void with sweet, sweet symphony,
But what difference will it make,
If the little mouse silent her petite voice?
“So, sing to me, Daddy, again and again and again,
Sing to me, Your beautiful songs of the Hope and Dreams,
Let darkness shut silence by Your lyrics,
And nothingness to be filled with Your opus,
Again and again and again, sing to me the song of You,
And I will sing and dance, for You, forever and evermore…”

Crossroad
The little mouse let out another sigh. There she was…is still is. Standing still at the same spot for hours, or maybe even days. Head turn left. Head turn right. Sigh… yet another crossroad to crack her little head.
To journey to little town Nephille. Or to venture into the big city Damious. Both of the places are extremely wondrous. No doubt about that. And not that she is lodging any mousie judgment on any of the places. But definitely, she can’t be in two places at once.
Sigh…
“Go left…” One voice claimed. Huh? Who are ‘you’?
“Go right…” Didn’t ‘you’ just said go left? Or are ‘you’ not the same ‘you’?
Are ‘you’ me? Speaking too loudly in mind. Agitating at heart for a move forward. Attempting to be Miss I-know-everything-thus-should-control-everything, again?
Or, are ‘you’ the despicable ‘you’. Murmuring loathsome lies by the ear. Aiming to erupt an obnoxious catastrophe within the soul.
Or, mayhap, ‘you’… really ‘You’? The one and only One who can shepherd the little mouse out from her elaborated mind maze. Speak loudly dear One. For Your words are true light that guides one out from the darkest cave. What is this mousie labyrinth to You who can do all things.
Forgive this little mouse of her ignorance at times. Let Your voice be prominent and lucid. And torch the way for her.
To pass this crossroad, and come to another one. And another… and another… All in the journey to Your kingdom.

The Race
On one particular fellowship meeting, leader bear, as usual, post a particular question to the members of the fellowship.
“If life is a race to Christ-likeness. And the track of the race is divided into ten sections. With marks from 1, 2, 3 and so on to 10. Whereby, each mark represents your current state of your spiritual life. And 10 mark the end of the track. A mark which represents sheer perfection. Faultless and sinless. Where do you think you are at?”
Ponder. Ponder. Ponder.
As each member shared their mark, the little mousie heart began to ponder. Oh dear, where am I now?
Definitely not 10 for sure. No one on the face of the earth had ever, ever, step foot on celebrated mark No. 10. Err… well… there is one actually. More than two thousand years ago, Jesus leaped to mark 10 the moment He was born.
7 or 8?? The little mousie gave herself a little no-no head shake. Don’t think this little mouse is worthy enough to receive such generous score. Still sinful. Still selfish. Still immature. There is still much room for improvement.
2 or 3 or 4 maybe?? Hmm… now the little mouse felt like she’s depriving herself. She’s not that evil. Not that wicked. Not that obnoxious.
Although still anxiously searching for her mark on the race, time never gave way. Soon, it was her turn to share.
Huh? Now? Me? Oh Lord, won’t You gave me a number? Silence. Or maybe the thumping of her heart overwhelmed the His gentle whisper.
“FIVE!” she blurted out. Just to be on the safe side, she thought. She let out a sigh…
Soon, the fellowship dismissed. Late at night, in her little solitary room she built in her mind, she posted the question to herself again. And this time, the answer was much clearer. It’s none other than the oh-so-famous number… one… Yeap, numero uno~
One because the goal is God, who is oh-so-perfect. One because there’s still a long way to run. One because of her long list of shortcomings and weakness.
Hey, wait a minute. Aren’t you depriving yourself? Ain’t that low self-esteem I sniffed? Aren’t you supposed to rate yourself aptly? Isn’t that ignorance towards Him?
Well, the truth is, the little mousie does not really know where she is on the track of life. Maybe she’s at mark 2 or 4 or 6 or 7 or whatever. Who knows? But her oblivious heart says she’ll still at mark 1.
One because she still want to continue to run. Faster each step. Harder each moment. Maybe because she knew herself a little more than any of you would. If she knew she is at 7 or 8 or 9, she might slow down.
“Besides, you have work so hard. Perfection is just a few steps away. Why not give yourself a little rest?” Her mousie heart will be easily tempted by such simple words. Pride will loom. Ignorance will manifest. Self sufficient will triumph. Who? God? I am god~!
From running to walking. From walking to sitting. From sitting to laying. Before long, you’ll slumber your way to the starting point of the race.
A brilliant start does not guarantee an applauded end.
Thus, one. Whether it’s 3 or 5 or 7 or 8, the little mouse will still see it as 1.
But won’t the little mouse feel dreadfully distant from God? Nay. He’s always running towards her.

Grace
Grrrrmmm… The sudden, inevitable sound was so loud it shook the ground she’s standing. Never thought a mouse’s tummy could be so thunderous.
She looked around, looking for any sight of the sun. Gone. The sun had set long time ago. Abundance of time must have flown away.
She peek her wrist watch. Eight in the evening? Already? She rubbed her tiny black eyes and blinked twice. Oh dear, I have to quicken my pace.
Fifty more toddler chicos to feed. Working in a chico farm isn’t as easy as many presume, especially after the mating season. That when all the female chicos lay about ten to fifteen eggs each, no thanks to the male chicos. The young ones, however, are undeniable extremely adorable. It’s as small as your fist, smaller even if you have big hands. Big, shimmering brown, exceptionally innocent eyes. Their teeny-weeny body covered with immature sunrise-yellow fur-like feathers. Small, cute beak. Its musical squeal for its mommy. Well, their “musical cry” can get very annoying when there are over hundreds of them.
Despite their little annoyances, she likes her job very much. Seeing each and every little chico grow makes her heart smile a little wider. Witnessing her tall, strong chicos marching alongside with the Ruby Brigade is one of her ultimate pleasures.
Whoops… mind drifted away… again. Back to work!
Then, suddenly, the little mouse senses a heavy fog of supreme pride looming…
“Yoohoo there!” There she was. Standing across the road. Clad in a pink mink coat, with an enormous gold chain wrapped around her neck. The little mouse could not recognize her at a glance. It’s only when she starts waving her, the sheen of the gigantic diamond rings pierced through the night darkness. It was her old friend, bulldog.
“Mousie-dear, what in the world are you doing here?” marched out the words with an odd accent.
“I am helping Mrs. Keilog to feed the younglings. She is …”
“Oh dear me! Working, still? At this time? When you are supposed to be in the comfort of your home?”
“You see, Mrs. Keilog…”
“Tsk~ tsk~! Why suffer so much for so little Dil! I doubt Mrs. Keilog is paying you for the extra sweat you’re pouring.”
“Actually, no, it’s because…”
“Now, now… you ought to learn more from me. Be more money-minded! For goodness sake, you will not earn anything if you kept on with your ill-fated ignorance. I tell you, this is how the world works. No matter how hard you toil and strive, they will still never, never ever, ever ever, will appreciate you. Mark my word! They will use you until your very last breathe. What will you gained then? Zippo! Nil! Zilch! Nothing… Have your faith build strongly on money! Let it be your inspiration, your utmost desire, your pillar! Because with it, you will gain EVERYTHING! Money, power, status, money, clothes, jewelries, money, mansion, oh, and have I mentioned money?” said the bulldog excitingly. Her sinister giggle and her gleaming eyes were very much disturbing.
“But… you see…”
“Ah! The time, the time! Wish I could stay to chat, sweetie, but I got a dinner appointment with some awfully charming chaps. And, you ought to get some good shut-eye. Your complexion looks deadly miserable.”
“…”
“Ta ta…” she said, with her usual finale pose before strutting away.
The little mouse was finally alone. She let out a long, silent sigh…
“All I want to say was Mrs. Keilog is not feeling very well today. Besides, even if she was not sick, I would still volunteer to help. Because if she was the only one doing all the work, she would not able complete until sunrise. She had asked me to go home, but I chose to stay.”
For the love for her dear friend, her work and the hungry little chicos.
Was it wrong to help? Was it wrong to work hard? Did she really not gain anything? The sweat she shed surely could not buy her the little pink dress she had her eye on last week. Nor the sound of the hungry tummy could get her the mouth-watering dinner set at Capier’s Corner. Diamond rings? Sapphire necklaces? Rubies? Bah~! Dream on, little mouse. Another ten years of hard labor, maybe.
So, the little mouse lives poorly and pitifully. Suffering and dragging the weights of agony through the days of her pathetic life. Alone. Meaningless. A testimony of ultimate hopelessness…
The end…
Ok ok… Just joking. That’s not how her mousie journey is going to end. Or at least, she hopes so.
All of the sudden, there was silence among the noisy bunch. Shock, the little mouse glares around. She felt like she just fell into the velvet mattress of the Milky Way. The twinkling and so most dazzling eyes of the little chicos was like the stars on the darkest night.
Somehow understood her little mousie feeling, they gathered around her.
Aww…. Ain’t that cute. Bet not even Duke McMorriche encounter this as often as he encounters weight gain. She was glad she had stayed and helped. There maybe many things can only be bought by worldly wealth. But there are definitely more many, many, many things that can’t be bought by even the richest man in the world. Like the smiles on the chicos’ cute little faces (now everyone, say “Awww….”). Or how about seeing a rainbow after a horrible storm. The feeling when you dance, jump, sing and shout for you just can’t contain the abundance of joy. Or even when you just are having a cup of hot chocolate on a cold, cold night. And even the old lady you once help cross the road remembered your name.
And especially, you know, every morning you wake up, He’ll be there to greet you.
When you’re sick, He’s next to you.
When you cry, He’ll hug you.
When you fall, He’ll pick you up.
When you’re tired, He’ll carry you.
When you sleep, He’ll lull you.
When you walk away from Him, He’ll woo you back.
In your every breathe, He’ll whisper “I love you” to your ears.
All these, can’t be bought; diamonds, gold, cash, whatsoever. Can’t be robbed, raid or deprived. Can’t be bartered with toil or sweat or blood. Nor can it be earned with truck load of good deeds.
It’s granted by grace.
Now, won’t you want that too?

How mousie of me
Squeak squeak squeak… The little annoying sound I make. How I wish I could chirp and tweet. Maybe, at least, I don’t sound so … err… mousie? But was it really the sound? Or the seed of the sound? Special breed of boredom, dreary and monotony. To me, it’s something. To me, it’s fascinating. Pure stupidity and naive, you think so? I am, but, a little mouse.
Little, furry, squeaky. Am I that terrifying? That even massive elephants run screaming at the sight of me. Are my blunt teeth are of fangs? Or my fur is of needles and spikes? Or my tiny paws are of claws? Or do I emit a horrible stink? If not, why you are standing on your chairs and tables? With your mouth opened wide. Out came a thunderous shout. That sends me running back into my hole. I am, just, a little mouse.
All those cheesey wheesey cakes I craved. Chocolate cheese cakes and marble cheese cakes are my ultimate favourites. I truly absolutely love to laugh and sing and dance. Above all, I sincerely want to love. Willing to love. Yearning to love. I got so much to give. And so much more desire to give. I am, truly, a little mouse
Oh, no, I am not made of steel nor wood. I have a heart. My heart can bleed when pierced. My eyes could cry when my heart bleed. I want to be loved. Want to be taken care of. Want to be cherished. Want to feel accepted. I have dreams, too, you know. Of candies and sweets and everything nice. I am, still, a little mouse.
Punishment. Someone once told me. Punishment. His voice echoed every moment. What I did so wrong, that this “curse” fell upon me? Certainly I can argue for days, months and even years why I deserve even more. But surely, the Creator does not deserve all these doubts but all worthy of my faithfulness. How contradicting can I be?
Guess, I am, all in all, a little mouse.
Saturday
The little mouse stared at the tall, ancient grandfather Clock. She has been looking intently, intensively and impatiently for quite a long while. Sometimes, she wonders. Was it her imagination that the second hand had stopped moving? It better had not. ‘Cause if it stopped, it means the minute hand will stop. Which means the hour hand will stop. Which means... the time will stop??? How absurd can this sound?
But it’s a fact. It’s true. Today is STILL Saturday. But, yesterday was Saturday. And the day before yesterday was Saturday. The week before weeks before was also Saturday. Or at least she thinks so. Or maybe, her mousie eyes were right. The grandfather Clock has been ticking like a great-great-grandma snail.
Will tomorrow be another Saturday? Or maybe, prior to that question, will tomorrow ever come? Has the Clock really given up moving Its hands?
Please, don’t, the little mouse begged and plead and cried. Please, move Your hands, O'mighty Clock. Tick… tick… tick… For the sound is so abundantly yearned and craved.
Each second is another step away to one minute. Each minute is one pace nearer to one hour. Every hour is one moment closer to tomorrow.
Sunday.

Roller Coaster
Ever wonder. Why such exuberance amusement ride could be so scary?
Ever wonder. How did those pricey tickets to the ride landed in her hand?
Ever wonder. When the little mousie seated her little self on the red cushion chair?
Ever wonder. A thousand wonders which wonder another thousand?
Surely, roller coaster isn’t any grand fashion trend that Miss Serenity or Miss Solace would ever mirror. It, too, ain’t any win-win business strategy for Mr. Capitalist would ever wish to be involved in. Ain’t too a joke funny-clown Jovial would laugh at.
Not forgetting Adolescence and his younger brother, Little Kid. The elder thinks he’s tough enough for anything. The younger does not even know what tough means. Romeo and Juliet do not fancy it either. If they would, their love story would be happy-ever-after rather than such tragic ending.
Still, every one of them is here. Seated in the roller coaster.
Up and up and up it paces. Down and down and down it plunges. As though there is no end to its plummet. Round and round and round it goes. Dancing somewhat gracefully on its twirling tracks.
Scuttle without direction or guide. With much immense swiftness. Through the dark tunnel of despair. Overturned again and again at loops of anxiety. Smidge through the acidic river of tears. Plunge down to the abyss of agony. Scurry through the fiery burrow of rejection and anger.
Yell. Scream. Cry. When this train ever tranquil?
“Wooooh, little lady, watcha yelling for?”
“Huh? Where’s voice comes from?” the little mouse pondered in her midst of confusion.
“Yo! I’m da Driver, little lady. Nice to meet ya~” There seated in the front seat, a Man with rainbow colored bandana covering part of His shoulder-length, wavy silky dark hair.
“Driver? This mad-charging-roller coaster actually has a Driver???”
“Err… yea… not many do really notice. Or, how should I put it, don’t even bother to notice? But, ya, I am da Man in control of this baby.” He turned around, pulled down his big, gold rimmed, dark sunglasses and gave an assuring wink.
“Errm…. Could You at least slow down? I mean, it’s so fast. It might crash and all of us will… will…”
“Come on, little lady, trust me. As long as I am in da driver’s seat, I am in control. And when I am in control, everything is going be way so great.”
“…”
“Trust me. Cool with it?”
“Cool, Dude…”
Well, at least it has a Driver. Somehow, after their little introduction chat, her little mousie heart felt more at peace. Guess this little mouse has to learn how to trust this... err... cool Dude.
In control, eh? This could be a very blissful roller coaster ride after all.

Birthday Wishes
Yahooooo~! Birthday is coming… Well, actually not really. The little mouse looked at her calendar and counted the number of days to go. As much as she enjoys the celebration, she definitely would not want to be “another year older”. She looked at her birth date. She leaned closer and whispered, “Take your own sweet time, ok. There is no rush, so don’t hurry”. She winked at her birth date, as if it can really hear her!
The little mouse certainly has gone through a number of birthdays. Now, there, several does not mean plentiful or numerous or abundance. So, don’t you think she’s that old!!
She could still remember each and every birthday wishes she made. Every time before she blows her birthday candles, she will, never fail, make a wish. When she was just a wee little mouse, she always wished for more toys! Electronic choo-choo train. Beautiful, gorgeous dolls. Soft and cuddly plushies. Everything a child ever wants!
Then, before she ever knew, she had grown out of it. Entered, the “not-a-child-not-yet-an-adult” episode. Woo~! Was her mind confused. She did not know what she really wants.
More pocket-money to equip her with popularity?
Streets of secret admirers singing Paul Anka’s “Put your head on my shoulder”?
Exam grades that will certainly turn Albert Einstein green in envy?
More attention from peers, friends, family and even strangers?
Aladdin’s genie in the lamp to grant her 3 wishes?
A wish to grant her another 3 wishes?
But her heart was locked on one and only one thing. This “thing” is not rare, but yet very hidden. Not apparent but yet fills the entire ambience. Cannot be eaten nor drink, but can be taste and felt. Many think it’s small, silly and shy, but it is definitely the mightiest of all.
Kings and knights and warriors hunt for it. But no war can conquer it. Rich merchants and noblemen offered their precious wealth for it. But it cannot be traded with gold and silver. Swashbucklers cross the seven seas, climb every mountain and walk every valley in search of it. But not in caves and canyons it’s found, but at your very own doorstep.
Wooh~ sound a bit too exaggerating, doesn’t it? Well, at least this is what the little mouse thinks of it. It was none other than…. *drum rolls please*... LOVE!
Got you there! What were you thinking anyway?
Every birthday, without fail, she would say in her little heart, “I wish for LOVE”. However, she did not know why she wished for such vague and all-embracing subject. And how is she going to know that her wish has come true? Nevertheless, she did not bother for the details.
She tilted her head up. There must be at least a dozen of birthday wishes on love. “You listened to every single one of them, didn’t You?” she smiled. She felt that He smiled and nodded.
“Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. For You, the Holy One, had always and will always listen to my every wish, prayer and tears. Even when I had not known You. Or even when I refused to believe in You. And rebelled every of Your word and Your ways. You will, still, listen to my birthday wishes. Every year, without fail. And You bestow that little wish of mine. How blind can I be? That Love… was, is and will be… standing in front of me, arms stretch out wide, ready to give its heart out.
How wonderful! You knew this wish of mine, before I was even born. And grant it in abundance. You are always standing in front of my doorstep, regardless of the rain or the sun. Day and night. Waiting for me to open my door. Now that I have opened, I finally realized. That Love is You, and You are Love. And I’ve got You! My wish came true!
So for the next birthday, instead of wishing the same wish, I would like to say Thank You. For You, had and always will be, by my side. Listening this little mouse’s birthday wish and granting it even she felt she does not deserved it…
Thank you Lord, for Your everlasting Love.
I love You, too…”

Death and Resurrection
27th March 2005. The date embedded in her heart, mind, spirit and soul. A day never to be forgotten. The day the darkness wailed in vain, as it plunges down to a bottomless pit.
27th March 2005. A funeral that celebrates her death was held the very this day. Yes, she died on this date. Drown by water. It was her free will to step into the depth. Suicide, you presume? Murder more to it.
She had been standing by the sea cliff for quite some time. Her feet itching to take the another step. The last step. She turned to the sky and asked out loud, “Should I, or should I not?” She paused for an answer.
Waakkkkk… Waaakkkk… Nothing was heard but the disturbing wails from the black crows. They seemed to be everywhere she goes. Noise. She wished they just disappear.
Conclusion. She had decided. To take the very step of obedience. For the love for Him to be known by all. To go through what He had been. To be completed and understood what He meant when He said, “It had finished”.
What good is it, when you declare you love Him whole-heartedly for eternity. But dare not marry Him? A simple command. Abundance of faith required.
The little mouse began to lift her feet…
Waakkk… Waakkk… The crows shrieked even louder. Their numbers increased, forming a dark muddle around her. They will not give her up. They will not let her go. She was “belonged” to them!
Their noise tightened around her neck. Fear and terror wrapped around her mind. Heavy, dark, smog clogged her throat and lungs. What meant to be beautiful turned despicable in her eyes. Tears out of no reason…
Sight, although very much obscured, she saw… A Dove, white as the water, bright as the sun. It looked back at her. A warm smile. Hope.
Her eyes locked on to the little Dove. Her hand reached forward to touch it. Just a touch of its feather… her heart determined. Up lift, her heavy, bounded feet… There is no turning back. She had decided. The last step… completed…
Plunged. Down she fell in the water, back-down, face-up, eyes closed. She could still hear, the cries of the crows. Defeated. Powerless. “Serve you right”, she smiled. Splashed. Her whole body immersed deeply into the water. Drowning into the bottomless ocean. Dead, at last. She “murdered” her ownself.
Then came two hands. Bright, beautiful and glorious. Held her little hands. Lifting her up from the ocean water. As she reached the surface, she gasped for air. Her eyes slowly opened, just a peek, she wanted to see. Oh, what glorious sight! The bright, beautiful golden sun. The cotton-white clouds. Birds singing in the sky. Fishes dancing in the water.
And the Dove! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Did she die? Yes she did. It was really her funeral this very day. But, who is she who is standing on the surface of the ocean? She was resurrected. Her birthday as well. She a newborn infant. She had “murdered” her past. No longer now holding any bondage on her. Freedom! A God-given second chance. She has now declared to the world, her marriage with Him. And pronounced that she is His loving daughter. Never will she regret of this, ever.
Hallelujah! All praise to the King!
Amen!

After about a year relationship with her Heavenly Father, the little mouse took the step of faith, love and obedience and was baptized with water on this very day at New Life Restoration Centre, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Amen.
“Therefore, I tell you, do not worry…”
Once, on the way to Hreilm City to visit one of her long lost friend, the little mouse met someone intriguing. Very much inspired by her new friend’s faith and strength, the little mouse decided write her friend’s life story into her journal.
This is her story...
“Dawn. The air is cool. The tingling sensation when hundreds of little, cold dew touches my skin. Oh, such marvel. Inhaled deeply, the fragrant morning breeze. Inhaled deeply, again and again and again… The sky is still dark; I could still see the moon. The sun is rising, the sun is rising… my heart pounded. I will miss the moon though, even as I am crazing for the sweet taste of sunshine.
Break of dawn. The first glimpse of the golden sun was majestic. Look at the clouds! The matrimony between red, orange, blue and purple never as perfect as this. Or, at least, I think so.
Morning. I am all packed with enough water to go on for the whole today! Anticipating the very best to happen. Not minding the wind that blows. There’ll be wind, for sure, whether it is just a light gust or an enormous storm. They may be tough. I may fall and cry too. But once the wind has passed, I know, for sure, I’ll reap another star.
Afternoon. The heat is getting immense. The water in me is drying up fast. Oh, my head. The heat is really hurting my head. Not forgetting the wind, swaying me left and right and left again… Now, don’t you worry about me. You might think I will fall. But I won’t. How about the water, you say? I thought I told you. I had enough water for the whole day.
Evening. Finally. Birds are starting to return to their humble abode. As they flew pass me, they stopped to admire me. Oh yes, I am truly a beautiful sight! Clad in silky, pearl white dress. With a shimmering diamond tiara on my head. Even King Solomon was never dressed as beautiful as me.
Night. Everywhere is dark. And not forgot to mention, eerie. Fear and worry lurking in the darkness. Panic heightened. Guilt emerged. Loneliness... Am I truly alone? No! I won’t fall for that same, o’ lame trap. I am not alone. Was never and will never. He’s always with me. He’ll never forsake me. That is why, even in the darkness, I can still find light.
5 minutes till midnight. I begin to count every minute left. Exhausted. Water in me running dry.
4 minutes till midnight. Thirst conquering me, creeping from the bottom at my feet.
3 minutes till midnight. Will I survive? I surely will. Definitely.
2 minutes till midnight. Tired and weary. Been standing up right for the whole day. My legs felt fatigue. I can’t stand up right.
1 minute till midnight. Lord, HELP!
Midnight. Down flow glorious Milk from Heaven. Such wondrous rain. Filling my well full again. Oh Lord, what am I to do without You. For I am just a lily at a field. I neither toil nor spin. But yet You clothed me warm and beautiful, and grant me my everyday provision. You take away my worry and weary. And shower me Your Holy presence.
I am all up and fully armored and filled. Ready for today’s adventure. How about tomorrow, you say? Well, tomorrow is another story…”
Mathew 6: 25 - 33
25 "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31"Therefore do not worry, saying, "What shall we eat?' or "What shall we drink?' or "What shall we wear?' 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
